Field Officer

Job Purpose

To support plant care and gardening operations at assigned sites, monitor plant health, coordinate maintenance activities, and communicate with customers to ensure timely and effective service.

Key Responsibilities

• Visit assigned sites and inspect the condition of plants, gardens, and landscaped areas.
• Carry out or coordinate watering, pruning, weeding, planting, repotting, and routine garden maintenance.
• Identify signs of plant stress, pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies and report them to the supervisor.
• Support the application of manure, fertilizers, and approved plant-care treatments under appropriate guidance.
• Coordinate with gardeners and field staff to complete scheduled tasks.
• Communicate politely with customers, understand their plant-care requirements, and share service updates.
• Maintain daily records of site visits, work completed, plant condition, and pending activities.
• Report requirements for plants, tools, materials, and other supplies.
• Handle gardening tools and materials safely and maintain cleanliness at work sites.
• Follow assigned schedules, safety instructions, and service standards.

Qualifications

Candidates with any of the following qualifications may apply:

• B.Sc. Agriculture
• Diploma in Agriculture
• Qualification in Horticulture
• Agribusiness Management (ABM)
• Mali / Gardening-related courses

Required Skills

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic understanding of plants, gardening, and routine plant maintenance.
• Willingness to work outdoors and visit assigned sites.
• Ability to coordinate tasks and maintain simple work records.
• Responsible approach, punctuality, and willingness to learn.
